The Australian Institute of Travel & Tourism (AITT) was
established in 1966 as a professional association for individuals employed
in the travel and tourism industry. Since then it has grown to become the largest
professional association serving the industry. Today its members are drawn
from the full range of travel, tourism, hospitality, sport and recreation
industry firms and organisations including shipping lines, tour
wholesalers, travel agencies, tourist attractions, national/state/regional
tourism organisations, tour operators, airlines, hotels, restaurants, money
exchanges, leisure media houses, sporting groups, promoters, and education
& training establishments. AITT has chapters throughout Australia.
Its biennial convention is a significant event on the Australian travel and
tourism industry's calendar.
